Divisibility Rules


Divisibility Rules

·         A number is divisible by 2 if the last digit is even
·         A number is divisible by 3 if the sum of the digit is divisible by 3
·         A number is divisible by 4 if the 2 last digits are divisible by 4
·         A number is divisible by 5 if the last digit are 5 or 0
·         A number is divisible by 6 is the number is divisible by both 2 and 3
·         A number is divisible by 9 is the sum of the digit is divisible by 9

Classification of Angles

Classification of Angles

Acute Angle:
An angle whose measure is between 0° and  less than 90°
Right Angle:
It has measure 90°

Straight Angle:
It has measure 180° 
Obtuse Angle:
 It has measure bigger than 90 ° and less than 180°
Adjacent Angle:
Sum of adjacent angles are equal to straight angle (180°)
 Reflex Angle:

A reflex Angle is one which is more than 180° but less than 360°

Basic Concepts of Geometry
Points and lines are two of the most fundamental concepts in Geometry, but they are also the most difficult to define but the most fundamental geometric form is a point. It is represented as a dot with a capital alphabet which is its name a line is a set of points and it extends in opposite directions up to infinity.

Geometry: The branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relations of points, lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional analogs
Plane: A plane has obviously no size and definitely no shape. However it is represented as a quadrangle and a single capital letter.
Lines:  A line we specify a line with two points is straight (no curves) extends in both directions without end (infinitely). 
If it does have ends it is called a Line Segment. 
Point: A point is an exact location in space, points are dimensionless. 

Line Segment:A line segment is a part of a line. It has a fixed length and consequently two end points. They are used to name the line segment
Rays and Angles: Extend the line segment beyond only one of the original two points. A ray extends indefinitely in one direction, but ends at a single point in the other direction. That point is called the end-point of the ray.
Angles
Angle:  An angle is a figure formed by two rays with a common endpoint which are not on the same line. The common endpoints of the sides of an angle is called the vertex.

Measure of an angle: Every angle has a measure. It is measured in degrees from 00to 1800 and is represented as m . A line is also an angle because it satisfies the definition of having two rays going in different  in this case opposite ) directions with a common end point

Right angle: Has a measure of 900.
Acute angle: Any angle whose measure is between 0 and 900 
Obtuse angle: An angle with a measure between 00 and 1800
Reflex Angle: Is more than 180° but less than 360°                  
straight angle: Is 180 degrees





Polygons
Polygons:  Is a closed plane figure formed by connecting three or more segments at their endpoints.


Triangles
Triangles can be classified according to the number of congruent sides and their angles.
Equilateral, isosceles and scalene triangles may be classified according to their congruent sides, and Acute, Obtuse and right triangles may be classified according to their angles

Triangle: A triangle is a polygon with three sides.

  
Quadrilateral

  A Quadrilateral: is a polygon with four sides, and four vertices or corners.
  

Circles
A circle is the set of all points in a plane that are equidistant from a fixed point in the plane.
 Radius: is also used to name a line segment that joins the center of the circle to the point on the circle.
 Diameter:  is a line which passes through the center of a circle. It is twice the length of the radius.
 Secant: is a line that contains a chord.
 Tangent: a ray or a segment in the plane of a circle that intersects the circle at exactly one point

Problem:

The national debt is a problem of which we are all subjected to. At birth it is said that we already owe money. Your task is to find a way to calculate how much does a child born in 2013 owes at the time of birth.

Information

Number of people: 10 millions

National debt:21,989 million


What you have to do:

You have to divide the number of people and national debt then we get the amount of money that a child owe when they born.

Operation:

21,989/ 10,000,000= 2198.9

My man Isaac Newton

So we had to watch a video named: My man Isaac Newton and what was our opinion about it.

Well I think this video has a point, Isaac Newton was and will always be a important scientific for us, because without him alot of stuffs wouldn't make sense for us, and thanks to him today we can unspderstand better how science works. I liked very much this video and I think you should watch it.

Solving Problems

Problem:  

Richard was at the canyon and he shouted his name down the canyon, 8 seconds later he heard his echo. How deep is the canyon, Explain how you solved it.


Solution:

What I first did I look up the speed of the voice, that is 343.2  m\s 

Now what we have to do multiply it times 4, Why times 4? Because it last 4 seconds to go down and to come back up again.


   343.2 * 4 = 1372.8 

So the canyon is 1372.8 long.


Solving Problems

Pre-Algebra:


Problem: 

Tyler and Christina are playing a game in which each player either wins, loses ot Draws (ties). The winner is awarded 5 points, and the loser loses  5 points. If it is a draw 0 points are awarded. For te first 8 rounds Tyler had the following results: lose, win, lose, win, win, lose , win ,draw. What was Christina's point total for the rounds? Explain how you did it.

win = 5 points
loose = -5 points
Draw =0 points


-Well first I divided the points between the two of them.

Now all we have to do is add and subtract the point for each of the players.

Christina total points is -5 (negative 5) so the winner is Tyler with the  diferrence of 5 points.

Differences of Math Now and Then

Differences of Math Now and Then

Well normally math has been a class that is boring for some people and for others it was complicated. Well since 5th grade math gets complicated and it gets even more complicated when bigger, but Pre-Algebra for now all I have learn in 2 weeks have been easier than 6th grade and 5th. And something that helps us learn is the teacher that is very cool and interesting and he knows how to explain. But math will get more complicated over the years, because it normally does…

 6th grade we learn about something you will have to use for more courses of math like 7th grade 8th grade etc. We learn basic things such as:
-Decimals
-Proportion 
-The start of Pre-Algebra
-Variables
-Units of the metric system
But now in 7th grade we will learn new stuffs and practice the old stuffs, Math will always be there in our life even if we don’t notice it. So for now the stuffs we have learned in 7th grade Pre-Algebra are pretty easy. I think is easy in its own way because they are, and because the teacher makes it easier for us.

My expectatives

Well the school started only a week ago, and I really think that the class will be very intresting, and is not only saying, cause normaly Math is boring for some people but  I think this teacher will make us like it alot, math and science. Because we only have take on week of school and I really like this two class Pre-Algebra and Physical Science, and I like very much the teacher. So a have good espectatives about this clas, I already like it very much and I hope is stays like that.
